Project 1 : Mary & Charlie

Brief
We were asked by Mary & Charlie to redesign large areas of their semi-rural garden sited on an exposed steep bank and bordered by woodland. We were asked to restore and regenerate the garden and to create new interest.
Design solution
The garden had many large specimen trees and shrubs and an edge of the woodland feel. We stripped it back to a framework for the new design retaining mature specimens. Mary likes the form and structure of Japanese gardens. We designed the new planting to give year round texture and colour. We created a foundation of foliage plants, layered with seasonal flowering shrubs and perennials. We continue to maintain and develop this beautiful garden.
